HOW IT ALL STARTED
My name is Maria Eugenia, but ever since I was a child, everyone has called me “Mayu”. I was born in El Salvador, Central America, where I grew up in a household filled with the aromas of my grandmother's cooking. Her culinary skills and love for food ignited a passion in me that would shape my future.
In 2001, I made the life-changing decision to immigrate to the United States with my two teenage children. Despite the challenges of starting anew in a foreign country, my unwavering desire to be close to my children and support them led me to embark on a journey as an entrepreneur. With determination and a deep-rooted love for cooking, I began crafting traditional dishes from my homeland and various desserts from my grandmother's recipes.
One of my earliest successes was my beloved bread pudding, which quickly gained popularity. Encouraged by this, I expanded into creating cakes infused with a homemade touch and our family's cherished custard cream. What began modestly in my home kitchen soon evolved into a thriving business over the years.
I vividly remember those early days of promoting my creations by handing out cake samples at local parks, designing business cards, and distributing flyers. Through these efforts, word spread gradually, and more people had the chance to taste the love and tradition baked into every cake.
Today, after 23 years of hard work and dedication, we are proud to have formally opened our bakery doors. It is a dream come true to share our delicious cakes and desserts with a wider community, inviting everyone to savor the flavors of our heritage and passion for baking.
